Discover Robotics Fall Session I

Course Description: Design! Build! Program! (and repeat!) This 6-week program has each participant build and program their own robot in this hands-on, high-energy class. Participants will be introduced to various machine elements, sensors, motors, and programming through learn-by-doing. Students will complete a variety of missions incorporating usage of their different sensors (such as ultrasonic, touch, and color). Students will use a graphical programming interface to autonomously control their creations and learn the basics of programming logic. Students will demonstrate their robots on the final day in a culminating and exciting Sumo Challenge.

Age Range: 3rd - 6th Grade

Class Time: 2:40 - 3:40 PM

Dates: Fridays - 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20*, 10/27*

*Due to parent-teacher conferences, students are released at 1:00 PM on these two Fridays. Robotics class will take place directly after early dismissal from 1:05 PM - 2:15 PM. 

Location: Library, Chaparral Elementary

Note: If the person registering is not a family at Chaparral Elementary in Claremont their order will be voided.
